A New Way of Being

Meditations and teachings to establish a confident and positive.

A Special Day Retreat with KMC Kent’s Principle Teacher James Baskerville

When: Sat 7th Sep 10am to 4.30pm

Venue: Wootton Village Hall. Wootton, Canterbury, CT4 6RP

We wish to change and for our lives to go in a better direction but for that to happen we need to connect with the potential that exists within our minds. The profound tools of transformation within Buddhist meditation gives us the ability to become the person we wish to be.

The first meditation in the Lam Rim (Tibetan for Stages of the path to Enlightenment) is the meditation on our Precious Human Life. The purpose of this contemplation is to lead us to recognising the incredible potential and purpose of our present human life, giving rise to an abiding experience of joy, gratitude, a powerful motivation to make the most of every day.

However, for this meditation to succeed, we need to actually engage in it! In this retreat we will explore how to do more than just occasionally ‘dip our toe’ in the wisdom of the teaching on our Precious Human Life. We will learn how to immerse ourselves in this liberating and joy-inducing wisdom, both in meditation and, even more importantly, during the meditation break, in our daily life.

The Teacher

This special day retreat will be led by James Baskerville, Principle Teacher of KMC Kent.

James has been practising and teaching Kadampa Buddhism for over twenty years and has engaged in extensive meditation retreats, including silent retreat. He is especially known for his clarity, humour and inspirational presentation of Buddha’s teachings.
