DEATH & DYING: A BUDDHIST PERSPECTIVE

A Day Meditation Event in West Malling

Saturday 11 November | 10am – 5pm

Booking Online Required – Limited Capacity

In our society, death and dying are often perceived as inherently negative topics of conversation and are often shrouded in confusion, grief and suffering. However, Buddhism offers a completely different perspective based on a profound understanding of the process of dying, the meaning of death, and what we can do to protect ourself and help others during such a critical passage in our life.

In this day course James Baskerville will explain the life-enhancing meditation on death. Gaining experience of this meditation will enable us to not only deal skillfully with our grief but also help those who are dying or have died. In particular it will allow us to acknowledge our own impermanence and transform the truth of our death into a liberating experience that will empower us to truly make the most of our lives, to live and die joyfully and meaningfully.

Each session will consist of a talk and guided meditation plus time for Q&A.

The Teacher

This meditation course will be led by James Baskerville, the Resident Teacher at KMC Kent.

James has been practising and teaching Kadampa Buddhism for over twenty years and has engaged in extensive meditation retreats, including silent retreat. He is especially known for his clarity, humour and inspirational presentation of Buddha’s teachings.
