About the Course:
These days many people are developing an interest in Buddhism and the Buddhist way of life, in part because of its practical approach to the problems we experience in our daily lives, and also because Buddhism is an open, flexible faith that may be practiced by anyone, regardless of their ethnicity or religious background.

Buddha’s teachings are scientific methods for improving our human nature and qualities through developing the capacity of our mind.

Buddhism teaches us to take responsibility for ourselves, our actions and the consequences of our actions. Through meditation we can follow the same path of inner transformation that Buddha followed and eventually attain a lasting inner peace and real power to benefit others.

This course will give an introduction to basic Buddhist philosophy, for those wishing to gain a deeper understanding of Buddhist wisdom and the practice of meditation. Topics covered will be meditation, inner peace, karma, past and future lives, loving kindness, compassion & wisdom.

The classes consist of guided meditation, a teaching, discussion with Q&A and refreshments.

Nov 4 – Buddhism: mind and happiness

Nov 11 – Karma: Creating the life we want

Nov 18 – Nirvana: Breaking free from the cycle of suffering

Nov 25 – Bodhichitta: The power of compassion

Dec 2 – Emptiness: Liberating wisdom

Everyone is welcome to attend this course or individual classes.
