~ Finding Inner Peace through meditation ~
Meditation is beneficial for everyone and can be practiced right here, right now. However enjoying a five-minute meditation every now and then, and committing to a daily practice to systematically train our minds, are two very different things. The latter requires commitment, a proven method and access to the required wisdom that will naturally lead us to a stable meditation practice that will succeed in the long term. Without this firm foundation, it will be difficult for us to commit to sit every day, and eventually gain mastery of our minds.
If you want to strengthen your meditation foundation, join this half day meditation course with experienced Senior Buddhist Teacher James with over 20 years of meditative experience, where you will learn views and methods you can rely upon to build a strong and sustainable meditation practice.
Session 1: Introduction to Buddhist Meditation, 10:00am – 11:15am
In Part I of the course you will learn the fundamentals of the Buddhist view and how they apply to meditation, i.e. training the mind. Applying these methods in your everyday life will lead to happiness and a sense of purpose and harmony in your relationships.
Session 2: Meditation Foundations, 11:45am – 1:00pm
In Part II of the course you will learn the basics of meditation, from why we would want to meditate to the “technical” matters of how to do it, and we will conclude with a Q&A session.
Optional Lunch: 1pm – 2pm
An ideal opportunity to connect with like minded people over a delicious vegetarian lunch. James will also present for a chat and an informal Q &A session session.
