Meditation & positive thinking
In a world of stress and conflict, meditation offers a fool proof method through which we can find balance and peace from within. Through skilful meditation we can develop the inner resources to approach our life with greater wisdom and strength.
On this half-day course, learn to meditate and discover for yourself the inner peace and happiness that naturally arises when our mind becomes still. This feeling of inner peace helps us to cope with the busyness and difficulties of daily life, many of our usual problems will fall away and we will feel warm and well disposed towards other people, thereby improving our relationships.
This course is suitable for everyone from complete beginners to experienced meditators.
The meditations taught on this course come from the Buddhist tradition, but you don’t have to be a Buddhist to attend the course or practice the meditations.
The Teacher
This half day meditation course will be led by Kadampa Buddhist Nun, Kelsang Oden.
Oden is a modern Buddhist nun who has years of experience and presents meditation and Buddha’s teachings in a practical, kind-hearted and inspirational way.

Our classes are for everyone who is interested in learning how to meditate, regardless of background or belief. They are designed to give a broad introduction to Buddhist meditation, teachings, and practice. Everyone is invited to use whichever aspects of the teachings they find helpful.
No. Anyone can learn basic meditation and experience the benefits that come from having a peaceful mind.
No. Everyone is welcome, including beginners. All you need is the wish to improve yourself and the quality of your life.
No special clothing is required, come as you are.
No. The classes focus on meditation and teachings alone. You can choose to sit on a chair or meditation cushion.
We are a registered charity run entirely by volunteers, no-one receives a salary. The funds we receive are used to pay for our venues and operating expenses. Although we charge for classes we also offer low-income rates and no one will ever be turned away for lack of funds.
