Foundation Programme
Foundation Programme provides a unique opportunity to deepen our understanding and experience of the spiritual path through studying and meditating systematically with a group of like-minded people.
The purpose of the Foundation Programme is to provide a systematic presentation of particular subjects of Mahayana Buddhism and to enable practitioners to deepen their knowledge and experience of Buddhism.
We often say, “My mind, my mind”, but if someone were to ask us, “What is your mind”, we would have no correct answer. This is because we do not understand the nature and function of the mind correctly.
Geshe Kelsang Gyatso,
HOW TO UNDERSTAND THE MIND
The teachings will be based on the inspiring book How to Understand the Mind written by the contemporary meditation master and founder of Jampel Buddhist Centre, Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche.
This book offers deep insight into our mind, and shows how an understanding of its nature and functions can be used practically in everyday experience to improve our lives. In addition, it describes different types of mind in detail, revealing the depth and profundity of the Buddhist understanding of the mind. It concludes with a detailed explanation of meditation, showing how by controlling and transforming our mind we can attain a lasting state of joy, independent of external conditions.
The Foundation Program is not a drop-in class, enrollment is required. Everyone is welcome to sign up and experience the benefits of attending a regular study program. Please contact info@meditateinkent.com for more information and to enrol.
