How to be happy during unhappy times
Practical meditations to help you stay calm, hopeful, and compassionate in a troubled world.
When the world feels unsettled and our own lives present challenges, it’s natural to wonder how happiness is possible. News of global suffering, uncertainty about the future, and personal difficulties can leave us feeling overwhelmed or powerless.
Buddhist wisdom explains that although we cannot control everything happening around us, we can transform our inner experience. In difficult times especially, developing a peaceful mind is essential. If our mind becomes overwhelmed by anger, fear, or discouragement, we only add to the problems around us. But by cultivating inner peace, we become a source of stability, compassion, and wisdom for ourselves and others.
In this four-week series, discover practical meditation methods from Kadampa Buddhism that help you access your natural capacity for happiness and meet life’s challenges with confidence and a good heart.
Week 1: Inner Protection – Finding Peace in Difficult Times
Week 2: Discovering the Real Source of Happiness
Week 3: Overcoming Negative Minds
Week 4: Opening the Heart – Radical Compassion for Difficult Times
Through practical teachings and guided meditations, learn how to let go of inner agitation, nurture a calm and positive mind, and bring greater peace into your daily life.
Each class stands on its own, so feel free to drop in anytime. We recommend attending the full series if you can, but you’re always welcome to join individual sessions. Suitable for complete beginners and experienced meditators.
